Dose and Administration

Nutritional Guidelines Protein Energy
Guidelines for Stable Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients 1.2 g/Kg/day of which at least 50% should be High Biological Value (HBV). 35 Kcals/Kg for < 60 years and 30‐ 35 Kcals/Kg for > 60 years.
Guidelines for Adult Peritoneal Dialysis Patients 1.2 g‐1.3 g/Kg/day of which at least 50% should be High Biological Value (HBV). 35 Kcals/Kg for < 60 years and 30‐ 35 Kcals/Kg for > 60 years.

   1)  1.2 g of protein/kg body weight/day for Hemodialysis Patients of which 50% should be of High Biological Value.

   2)  1.3 g of protein/kg body weight/day for Peritoneal Dialysis Patients of which 50% should be of High Biological Value.

Following the guidelines, a patient weighing 60 kg would require 72 g of protein of which 36 g (50%) has to be of High Biological Value. So for that particular patient, 3 sachets of Renuris will provide an equivalent amount of High Biological Protein.

Oral Feeding: Renuris is an easy to prepare diet supplement with minimal level of flavoring when reconstituted with water. Renuris is formulated for use as total or supplemental nutrition.

Tube Feeding: Follow the physician’s instructions. Use a shaker or a suitable closed container for preparation. Pour 40 ml water at room temperature into the container. Add contents of 1 Renuris packet into water. Stir or shake if using covered container till powder dissolves. The condition of the patient should be considered when determining the proper flow rate, volume and dilution to achieve optimum patient tolerance.

Instructions For Use

1. Take 40 ml of previously boiled and cooled water in a suitable container (Approx. 150 ml capacity).

2. Tear off top of the packet and empty content into water.
